Sauna Sessions

Coinciding with Medina’s beloved Ale in Autumn, guests are invited to enjoy the experience of a wood-heated sauna at The Hub. Red Hot Sauna has transformed an iconic fire truck into a mobile sauna that blends American history with Nordic ritual. Stripped of its original fittings and rebuilt with craftsmanship, the truck now holds a cedar interior and wood-burning stove, recreating the atmosphere of a traditional sauna.

In Baltic and Nordic culture, saunas have long been more than a place to bathe—they served as kitchens, clinics, temples, and communal shelters open to both friends and strangers. Today, sauna bathing is also recognized as a form of whole-body thermotherapy, easing pain and supporting well-being.

Sessions will take place at scheduled times and must be booked for $45 in advance. Tickets will be available soon here. Each session will have only eight guests.

Screening: Smoke Sauna Sisterhood

In Estonia, the smoke sauna is an 800-year-old tradition still practiced today by the Võro community in the country’s southeast. Recognized by UNESCO as part of the world’s intangible cultural heritage, the ritual is both physical and spiritual, and it is a heated space for purification and renewal.

In her acclaimed debut feature, director Anna Hints turns this tradition into a profound cinematic experience. Within the dim, smoky glow of the sauna, women share secrets, speak their deepest truths, and shed the weight of shame carried in their bodies. What emerges is a powerful portrait of resilience. Smoke Sauna Sisterhood was named 2023 Best European Documentary.
